Women in Power Empowering is a Tarrant County based Black giving circle of women. Our mission is to create opportunities for women to overcome obstacles by providing financial awards and awareness.

  

Women in Power Empowering makes a difference in the lives of women experiencing socioeconomic hardship through our Empowerment Fund, women-owned business through our Business Empowerment Award, and women in crisis through our Women Impact Grant. We assist Tarrant County women overcome financial barriers who may not otherwise qualify for public assistance. 

Women in Power Empowering is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Our Philanthropy

Women Impact Grant *Opens April 5th*

Women in Power Empowering creates opportunities for women to overcome obstacles by providing financial awards, mentoring, and support. The purpose of our Empowering Giving Circle Grant Program is to award one-time grant of up to $2,000 to assist nonprofit organizations that provide programming to support and empower women and girls of Tarrant County.

 

Eligible Activities for Grant Funding:  Grant funds must be used toward expenses for programs and/or activities that work directly with Tarrant County women and/or girls. Programs and activities must be in one or more of the following categories:

  • Crisis Services (i.e., emergency financial assistance)

  • Educational Services

  • Financial Literacy

  • Mentoring

 

Examples of eligible expenses include, but are not limited to, laptops for tutoring program, software for literacy classes, and food and transportation for emergency housing recipients.

Join our initiative

100 Empowered Black Women

This initiative will help us to show the power of collective giving and Black philanthropy. Those who participate will be highlighted on our website and social media with a photo and a statement on why they give. Collectively we can empower women across Tarrant County overcome barriers to personal, professional, and educational goals.

Coming Up Next

Women in Power Empowering and KERA present a screening and panel discussion of the PBS documentary "Breaking the News" for Women's History Month. Breaking the news shows that change doesn't come easy as Women and LGBTQ+ journalists launch startup The 19th* to buck a broken news media system.

2023 Business Award Recipient

The Healing Lounge

Congratulations to our 2023 recipient of our $2,000 Business Empowerment Fund Award, The Healing Lounge. The Healing Lounge provides a safe space for women who has experienced trauma and other obstacles that lead to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, chronic self-doubt, and a loss of purpose. Funds will be used to provide free therapy sessions to a Tarrant County woman, reduced cost or free community workshops, and more.

2023 Women Impact Grant Recipient

Serenity Transformation House

Congratulations to our 2023 Women Impact Grant Recipient, Serenity Transformation House. They are providing a much needed service in our community to support homeless pregnant moms in Tarrant County with diapers, clothes, transportation, and temporary housing. They will use the $2,000 grant to restock items in high demand for homeless pregnant moms.

1. Choose your level of giving (2 options)
